Submersible Level Transmitter for Wastewater Monitoring
In wastewater monitoring applications, sensor reliability and resistance to clogging are critical. One of our clients faced ongoing issues with standard submersible level sensors failing due to debris buildup, frequent replacements, and a required measurement range beyond standard specifications. Our customised MRL21 Submersible Level Transmitter was developed to deliver accurate, long-term level measurement in contaminated environments while minimising maintenance and downtime.
Problem:
- Standard level sensor models were prone to clogging in wastewater conditions
- Frequent sensor replacements increased costs due to wear and clogging
- Required measurement range was outside the standard specification
Challenges:
- Delivering consistent and reliable readings despite debris or variable flow
- Ensuring long-term reliability and a low failure rate in a contaminated environment
- Minimising downtime caused by sensor maintenance or failure
- Integrating seamlessly with existing monitoring and control systems
Our Approach:
- Customised pressure and level range to meet the client’s specific requirements
- Designed a pressure transmitter with a custom end cap to prevent clogging
- Delivered high-accuracy performance suitable for wastewater conditions
Solution:

MRL21 Submersible Level Transmitter
- High measuring accuracy
- Measurement range of 1m H2O to 200m H2O
- Rugged model with IP68 protection suitable for harsh environments
- Wide range of media compatibility
- Low static and thermal errors
- Reverse polarity and transient current protected
Key Advantages:
- Achieved the non-standard pressure range as requested by client
- Customised anti-clogging cap design improved sensor durability and reliability
- Low failure rate minimised maintenance costs, providing long-term savings for the client
